Social Media Content Coordinator

If you enjoy the fast paced, exciting environment of expos/events/consumer trade shows you’ll love coming to work every day. Our Long Island location in Syosset, NY has an exciting opportunity for a Social Media Content Coordinator (SMCC).

American Consumer Shows (ACS) is the premier event management company in the home improvement and bridal industries. The role of the SMCC requires the ability to manage multiple, concurrent projects and initiatives while maintaining a positive attitude and high energy. The SMCC will serve as a full-time community manager for two brands, including monitoring all social properties, creating unique and engaging content, designing social media imagery, and assisting in building social media promotions and other initiatives. The SMCC must have strong creative and professional writing skills and will work with management to brainstorm and create social initiatives to grow the company's social activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a community manager for ACS' social media platforms
  • Create daily content for multiple social media platforms across two different industry verticals
  • Build social media creative imagery for daily content
  • Deliver content via social media and email
  • Measure and optimize content based on analytics
  • Assist in developing social media program initiatives to improve community size and engagement
  • Communicate with management on a regular basis with updates and new initiatives
  • Find and implement new social strategies, tools and tactics, as they develop
  • Become fully immersed in ACS' brand and culture
  • Ensure that messages are supportive of and consistent with marketing strategies
  • Create marketing materials for both consumer and exhibitor email campaigns
  • Provide support for all other advertising and marketing related tasks as assigned

Skills/Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree (marketing or related field preferred). Experience in a marketing role or internship is preferred. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Experience with Photoshop and other graphic design programs is a plus. Exceptional sense of creativity. Strong familiarity with the business applications of social media platforms, including; Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest, Google+, Instagram and more. Ability to ask questions and learn new skills quickly on the job; be a self-starter. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects. Motivated to take responsibility and ensure successful outcomes across activities; be a team player. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel). Basic html and video production skills a plus. The ability to travel and work weekends during show season.
